“To provide the highest quality CDL training” – that’s the goal set fourth by C1 founder & owner Chris Welch. Since 1987, C1 Truck Driver Training has been providing that high quality truck driver training to students driving for the nation’s most reputable trucking companies. The school’s roots trace back to the leader in diesel engines, the Cummins Engine Co. Back then, Cummins executives recognized the biggest problem that their engine customer’s faced was a lack of qualified, well-trained truck drivers. Cummins Professional Training Center, as the school was originally known, was founded to help ease the driver shortage. In 1991, the school was purchased from Cummins. Since then, C1 has grown and expanded and now offers CDL training at five regional campuses in four states. C1 is the authority in truck driver training.

Each C1 Truck Driver Training campus offers a modern and spacious classroom area utilizing the latest technology for an advanced multimedia learning environment. Our trucks are all well-maintained, late-model tractors with 48 and 53 foot van trailers. We use the same type of equipment most students will begin their professional driving careers in.
