C1 Training: Your Simple, Affordable Path to a CDL Career
How Our CDL Training Program Works
Step 1 — Meet Your Advisor
Your advisor will:
- Help you choose the right license class (Class A or Class B) for your goals and lifestyle.
- Guide you through prerequisites (DOT physical, drug screen) and getting your Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP).
- Discuss funding options and, in some cases, help you get pre-approved with an employer for after graduation.
- Set your class start date and review options to shorten training by completing a portion online.
- Arrange housing if you’re training from out of town.
Step 2 — Attend Training (2–4 weeks)
- Class A: 4 weeks — 1 week classroom + 3 weeks range/road.
- Class B: 2 weeks — 1 week classroom + 1 week range/road.
Classroom Training
Learn the laws and regulations CDL drivers must follow, with practical examples. Curriculum includes driver logs, trip planning, map reading, and vehicle-control fundamentals.
Driving Range
Put classroom skills into practice on our private range. Master low-speed maneuvers such as turning, shifting, and backing.
Street Driving
With a certified instructor at your side, drive on local streets and highways near campus. You’ll handle real-world situations—like intersection turns—similar to those on the state skills test.
Step 3 — Take the State Skills Test (On-Site)
After you demonstrate proficiency, you’ll take the state CDL skills test on our campus with a licensed state examiner. The exam includes:
- Pre-Trip Inspection
- Basic Vehicle Control
- Road Test
After You Graduate
Our support continues with lifetime job placement assistance, helping you maintain a rewarding, reliable career in transportation.
