Understanding Class A ELDT Requirements
The new ELDT regulation was mandated in February of 2022 to ensure all new drivers are given the same standard of training on a federal level. ELDT or Entry-Level Driver Training mandates were put in place for anyone obtaining a Class A CDL for the first time; current CDL Class A holders are excused. Class A training must be completed by an FMCSA-approved training program that is registered with the Training Provider Registry (TPR). New drivers will need to complete the Class A Theory ELDT course before they are able to continue with CDL skills training.
C1 Class A Theory Course

The course is equipped with study questions at the end of each unit to help you retain information for the proficiency exam that will become accessible after all units and study questions are completed. A score of 80% or higher is required to pass the course. You can take the exam as many times as needed at no additional charge to pass. After receiving a passing score, your results are automatically transmitted to the FMCSA, and you are permitted to continue with your Class A training.
